Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe will miss the next two games against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa while recovering from pneumonia.
Howe stays in the hospital, received late on Friday after feeling “slightly a few days a few days,” Newcastle said in a statement.
He missed Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester United, and assistants Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones who led a 4-1 win team. The couple will remain in charge.
“A big thank you to everyone who is connected to the Newcastle United and a wide football community on your messages and warm wishes. They thought a lot about me and my family,” Howe said on the club website.
“I also want to pay tribute to our incredible NHS -in the hospital staff who treated me.
