We are now about a third of the time through the Indian Premier League 2025, so it seems to be a good time to deal with stock and evaluate which teams look healthy and who need to revive.

It’s a cliché that bowling wins you T20 trophies, but that’s true. The view of the IPL table will also tell you that all early front runners have made significant changes in their auction bowling attacks, the changes that strengthened them.

The Gujarat Titans reached two finals in the first two years, and in both seasons they had a pistol bowling attack.

In 2023, they even had the three highest wICKET collectors at the expensive tournament in Rashid Khan, Mohammad Shami and Mohitu Sharmi.

Last year, their bowling completely lost the top -notch edge (it was also throwing, which didn’t help) and looked the shadow of their former themselves.

At the auction, they decided that remodeling was needed, and their smart customers are already starting to come to fruition. Mohammed Siraj looked near his fiery best, while Praseidh Krishna once again showed that when he was in shape, he could be a true weapon for India in all formats.

Canny Sai Kishore carried a burden to the whirlwind to such an extent that he did not even notice that Rashid was completely ineffective. If he also hits the shape, they will cruise to the play-off.

Delhi Capitals were the worst bowling alley in the tournament last year and were supposed to sign a statement in the Quick Puting Department.

For some reason, Kolkat riders released Mitchella Starca (bizarre decision), and the capitals rushed to auction.

Four games have already made a huge difference, picking up wounds of Vitla to make Delhi in front of the game. With Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel still one of the best two, they now have a bowling attack that can compete with the best striking lines.

His partner in the new Aussie Josh Hazlewood ball had a similar impact on Royal Challengers Bengalur. Neither he nor Starc played so much IPL crislette.

In fact, Hazlewood played only 33 matches. The main reason for this is that they are priority international crickets over IPL, something that helped them be in harmony and fresh in their mid-thirties.

Gujarat, Delhi and Bangalore fights with hitting

But by this point, it is often too late and the game is lost.

Chief coach Stephen Fleming said “Dhoni can’t hit 10, running on a full stick,” but I still think he can bring him a little earlier to give him time to influence the match with a baton. If CSK no, it may be too late for their chances of playoffs.

The big shock on so far are the Sunrizers who have found themselves raising the table.

After dominating the Royals in their first match, they seemed to be picked up where they stopped last season, but their hitting suddenly worked wrongly in greater way. Their problem is not a lack of power – if nothing else is the opposite.

The mantra of the whole top six – the ban on the Nihh Kumar Reddy – is to draw all the rifles that flash, but when it fails, it seems that there is no Plan B. I still think they can recover and end up at the best of four, but they need to turn things to immediately.

Two of their next three games are against Mumbai, which could help because they started bad again. They have a powerful hit line on paper, but they seem to be decaying in tight chase, which is not a habit that you want to fall into.

Their icing depth also looks light, which could represent more problems as the tournament is worn.

It’s a long way, so expect the table to change, but so far it looks like a mega auction has shaken things and we may have some teams in play-offs that weren’t there last year.
