Arsenal to open talks with Ethan Nwaner on a new contract

Arsenal was supposed to open talks with 18-year-old Ethan Nwaner on a new long-term contract.

Nwaneri appeared as a key associate of the team of Mikel Arteet this season, which encouraged the club to conclude an improved contract to reject any potential courtiers this summer.

His current contract lasts until the end of the 2025-26 season, but Arsenal is eager to act early to keep him.

The arrival of Andrea Bert as a sports director strengthened the focus of the club on the development of young people, but Nwaneri tied to a fresh contract that he now considered to be a top internal priority.

Although the formal proposal of the contract has not yet been made, Arsenal reached for Nwnerri’s camp to start the procedure.

A significant increase in wages is foreseen as part of a new job. Nwaneri is still under the conditions of his first professional contract, which he signed as he progressed through the club academy. The new contract would reflect its fast development and the growing reputation of one of the most promising young players in Europe.

Although financial terms will play a role in the upcoming conversations, it is expected that Nwaneri’s development trajectory towards Arteta will also be a key aspect of the discussion.

The teenager released 31 appearances in this campaign, reinforcing himself in the midst of a crisis of injury that ran into several Arsenal older attackers.
