Maresca believes Blues will be a ‘better team’ after a conflict in the Warsaw Legion

Enzo Maresca believes that Chelsea will be a “better team” after their quarterfinal conflict of the Europa Conference from Legia Warsaw on Thursday.

Side Maresca boasts a 100 % record in the competition this season and will be a solid favorite to win in the Polish capital.

Bluesi will hope to take the next step towards the first trophy under Italian. However, the London club balances its European ambitions by encouraging football in the Champions League to provide the next five -in -law in the Premier League.

And the latter, insists on that, Maresca, remains a priority.

“The main target becomes the top four, Top Five and play the Champions League in the next season,” Maresca said.

“But especially because this club, chelsea fans and institution have to play that competition as a club.

“We’ve been there all season and hope we can be in the end.”

While Chelsea will be expected to return from Poland winning, their manager believes that the experience will only benefit his young team.

“We can’t let the external things change the way we think or the change we behave,” Mareca said.

“As a player, I played in four or five different teams where you can play Derby.

“I said we had to experience this kind of games, this moment, that we would surely be a better team after tomorrow’s game because we need it.

“We are very young, but immediately we need these types of games to improve.”

Maresca, who confirmed that the Wesley Fofan defender would be out until the end of the season after undergoing a lower leg surgery, she also addressed her somewhat controversial decision to rest Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson in their premiere league downtown against Brentford on Sunday.

“Probably from the outside, you are wrongly receiving the reason why Cole and Nico didn’t play. They didn’t play, not because we want to rest today.

“They didn’t play because there was a game plan because Brentford was 24 hours more than us, because some players were tired.”
