Gervont Davis coach Kenny Ellis, says Shakur Stevenson “missed the ship ” Not getting the fight with the tank when he was offered. Now they “switched” to other things. Kenny states that he believes Shakur was trying to “grow old” and his conspiracy will not succeed.
Ellis does not say when Stevenson (23-0, 11 ko) went on the opportunity to fight him, but says he had the opportunity to miss. Newark, a native of New Jersey, tried to grow old but failed. Now they’ll have to live with that.
If Shakur can’t run a tank davis, its capabilities in 135 are thin. His career as a world title bearer could end suddenly from these fighters:
– Andy Cruz
– Raymond Muratalla
– Abdullah Zidar
– William Zeped
– Herrera core
Assuming that Shakur’s purpose at the crossing until 135 was to hit Jackpot with a financial fight against Tank Davis, he didn’t seem to have succeeded. It is young enough to move to 147 to chase the fight against Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. That could be good plan b The option for Stevenson, not to remain in the lightweight category and career, sank by the upper fighters. I don’t see Shakur beating Cruz, Mason, Herrera, Murratalla or even Zeped. They have too much offensive abilities for him. It has those glass hands that limit what it can do.
“I think he could get older, but he won’t get older soon,” coach Kenny Ennis said BOKS MILLCITY about his belief that Shakur Stevenson could try and “grow old” Gervont Davis. “I don’t care because it could happen. I’m not really interested in it.”
It is hard to believe that Shakur will try and grow old tank Davis. He called Davis left and right since in 2023 he moved to a light division. He almost prayed for the fight against tanks. Why would you try to leave him? That doesn’t sound right.
“People want to do it when they want it. No, it’s not doing it. We are the box of boxing. You missed you; you missed the ship. He missed the ship. They don’t control us. They don’t tell us when they go. They don’t say tank when they move,” Ellis said.
Zeped deal is not there
The WBC champion in the lightweight category Shakur hopes to fight William Zeped, but that does not look good right now after the agreement he thought he had with Turkish more there. Last Saturday, Stevenson said that at X About his plans to fight Zepeda:
“The fight has ordered WBC. I’m still a champion and I don’t get out of anything. If we can’t reach an agreement (with Golden Boy), then that is an offer for a purse. See you soon.”
Stevenson complained to X that Turks no longer offers him money he thought he would fight against the temporary champion in the lightweight category of WBC Zeped (33-0, 27 ko). He is now offered less than he received for the last fight against Josh Padley.
“That’s the opportunity. You never know,” Kenny said when asked if Shakur decided not to lead the tank fight for his hands. As the tank says. He could withdraw. We have to wait and see what he is doing. Whatever he did, I respect that. If he continues, he gets my support.
“Many of these people had the opportunity, and they didn’t take it. Continue to move. Life continues,” Ellis said.
