Max Verstappen rejected Land Norris and Oscar Piastria to ask for his first win of the Formula 1 2025 season in the tense end of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Pole-Sitter Verstappen beat Norris in just 1.4 seconds for his fourth victory of Suzuk, and Piastra is only seven-tenths behind his teammate in McLaren in third place.
The key moment of the race appeared in Circle 22 when Verstappen and Norris appeared together, and the couple got out of the pits of the tape almost side by side, and Norris went to the grass.
Norris claimed to be “forced”, but the managers quickly decided not to explore the incident after noticing him, suggesting that the McLaren driver had to give up because Verstappen was his car in front.
From there, Verstappen perfectly managed the tires despite a few efforts of Norris and Piastria as they pushed themselves strongly, but never arrived in the range of Dr. Government World Champion.
The top three in Suzuki now have a win in the 2025 race, but Norris runs the driver championship in a solitary point from Verstappen, and Piastra is 13 points back before the Bahrain Grand Prix next weekend.
The top six ended when they started with Charles Leclerc in a lonely fourth, George Russell in the fifth and Kimi Antonelli, who led their first F1 races in the sixth.
Lewis Hamilton overtook Isack Hadjar Racing Bull early to take seventh place from Rookie driver, with Williams’ Alex Albon in Ninth and Haas Oliver Bemanan at 10.
Domestic hero Yuki Tsunoda put together only two places on his first Grand Prix for Red Bull, because he finished 12th. Beyond Aston Martin Fernand Alons.
The Suzuk machine was damp at the beginning of the Japanese Grand Prix, but dry enough for slicks, and Verstappen knew he should stay ahead of McLarens from the line to make his sensational pole on Sunday to turn his sensational pole into a victory.
Verstappen and Norris pointed their cars to each other, but received the same launch, and the Top 10 kept their positions without any incidents throughout the ground.
From there it was a tire management game. Norris was initially staying before he pushed strongly before the only phase of stopping the pit.
McLaren decided to score Piastra first, although Verstappen and Norris entered with just over one second that separated them.
A slight slow position of the Red Bull meant that Norris was released from Verstappen from a pitpen box around half of her car with Verstappen. Norris went to the grass and immediately stated that he was forced by Verstappen, who said that the British driver had “” got into the grass “.
McLaren had a clear advantage of Tempo, as they had all season, but the fast corners of Suzuk thought that the car monitoring in front was difficult because of the dirty air.
After the remaining 30 rounds of the race, Verstappen kept the gap from 1 to 2.5 years, so Norris was not close enough to attack, but suffered a lack of power behind the four -time world champion.
Piastra was also in the battle, however, he did not take any risk against his teammate, so he had to agree on the podium on his birthday.
Although their duplicate podium McLaren puts 36 points ahead of Mercedes in the Constructor Championship, their drivers will be frustrated not to win the trail that played according to their forces.
“It was hard. McLarens pushed me a lot,” said Verstappen, who is the first driver to win in four races in a row in Suzuki.
“It was a lot of fun, but not easy to push the tires. I’m incredibly happy. This weekend started quite tiring, but we didn’t give up, they continued to improve the car. Today it was in its best form. Starting from Pole allowed victory.”
By the way, there was a little action, except that Antonelli had long been in the first phase of stopping Pit -ai led her first ever circles in F1.
Hamilton, who started hard tires, also had a long first side, hoping for a security car, but was seventh for Ferrari on a relatively calm weekend.
All 20 drivers ended the Grand Prix for the first time in 2025, and the organizers of the circle will be released that there was no grass fire, which disturbed earlier parts of the weekend in the race.
