Postecoglou on Richarlison Return in front of Chelsea Game

Tottenham chief Ange Postecoglou says Richarlison will not be suitable for a return from a injury against Chelsea on Thursday.

The Brazilian, however, is in a chance to show up against Southampton over the weekend, after his last injury neglected the last two months with the course.

Richarlison did not occur from the muscle injury obtained in the semi-final loss of the second leg at Liverpool 4-0 in Liverpool.

News of Tottenham’s injury

He asked an update of injuries at his press conference before the match, Postecoglou said: “Nothing new beyond them (Richarlison, Kulusevski and Denso). Everyone else is fine and training. Radusi (Dragusin) in the long run.

“Richy’s training, probably not tomorrow (for Chelsea play), but a chance for the weekend if he continues to train with the first team he was. He gets better.

“Deki (Kulusevski) and Kevin are making good progress, and probably a week or two with them, they have not yet joined the team training, but they are making good progress.”

Ange ‘delighted’ with Romero International Action

Postecoglou also said that he was “delighted” that defender Cristian Romero twice presented Argentina in international duty, despite only recently returning to the Spurs action.

“I was delighted, my friend. If he manages to pass two games with his national team, then it is great for us.

“He didn’t play a lot of football, and football players should play, not sit for about two weeks.

“He needed games, you could see that in the performances with us before, especially in Fulham’s game in the 70th minute he was quite cooked in terms of his physical fitness, so the passing through two difficult games at international level is positive.”

Positive international break

Many Spurs players were in action for an international break, and Postecoglou was pleased when so many of his players became important records before starting the season.

He added: “It was a good international break for us. First, obviously no one picked up anything, which is important, but some guys got some time to play for a game that we thought would be important, guys like (Cristian) Romero, Destiny (Udogie), Matty Tel (Pictable), Wilson (Odobert) and all those guys in recently.

“Those who played everyone returned relatively well, they all came back and we had a strong training group in the last few days.”
