Not a view is hoped that the noottingham Nikola Millenkovic forest defender will become a larger defender than him.
In December, Milenkovic scored only two minutes of victory 3-2 over Manchester United-Club in which Vidic gave his name and grew adored.
While the two sides are preparing to meet tonight, with the forest in third place and United sits in 13th place, both spoke about comparison between themselves.
“It’s natural,” said Vidic BBC Sport. “Maybe I set the bar more for the defenders. But the tape I put there should be broken.
“The new generation of Serbia will look the way I played, but their goal is to make better than in my career.”
During his stay in United, Vidic won five Premier League titles, three FA Cups, Champions League and the World Cup club. At the individual level, he was twice declared a player of the year of the Premier League – the honor shared only by Kevin de Bruyne, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry – and introduced himself to the league team of the year four times.
Milenkovic, who had previously called his childhood “idol,” admitted that the matching of these achievements may not be realistic, but this is something he does not dream of.
He said: “He set standards for veterans in Serbia. He is our best player ever, and I grew up watching the videos of his games.
“It was his leadership in the field and the way he played. He was ready to sacrifice himself for other players, do his best not to acknowledge the goal, live for a pure list. I took it from him.

“Also, his reading game was very good. He was a very intelligent player and really aggressive on the field.”
Although Vidic and Milenkovic never met, the united legend followed her career, after developing from her early days in Partizan Belgrade, through seven seasons with Fiorentina in Serie A, before moving to the forest to £ 12m last summer.
Milenkovic was nominated for the Premier League player for March, adding Forest impressively semi -final running FA Cup.
“He is a great representative of Serbian football,” Vidic added. “He is a great example of how players need to behave and work hard to try and succeed and hold their career.
“He likes to defend himself and improved a lot in the sense of tactical side because he played in Italy.
“It’s not fair to compare (with me). He has his abilities and has a good career. She is 27 years old and for a defender who is still young.
“It’s good to say,” When I was young, it was a goal that I wanted to aim, “but the players should be pushed to go even more than their idols and the people they compare themselves to.
“He’s 27 years old. I came to England when I was 24 or 25. There’s a lot more to give.”
