The Premier League was finally scheduled to introduce semi-automara technology of offside for top flight matches, starting on April 12.
The decision comes after a long period of inanimate testing within the league and its initial use in English football during the fifth circle of FA Cup in February.
The semi-automated technology is designed to simplify the decision-making procedure for narrow offsid calls, because automates the key aspects of the ruling, helping the Judge for the Video of the Assistant (VAR) in the process.
According to the Premier League, it “increases the speed, efficiency and consistency of decisions in the offside.”
Originally introduced at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the system has since been used in Serie A, La Liga and Champions League.
The House Meeting of Manchester City against Crystal Palace will be the first Premier League match that contained technology.
This system aims to reduce human subjectivity by replacing certain official decisions with automated technology.
As it stands now, when it is scored after a close situation in the offside, the VAR officials have to evaluate three critical factors: the exact moment when the ball played, positioning and angle of the bodies of the defender at that moment the same details for the offensive player.

With the new system, all three provisions will automate.
Specialized cameras were installed under the roof of all 20 Premier League stadiums to monitor several factors key for the off -screen verdicts.
These cameras oversee the movement of the ball and record 10,000 surface “network data” on each player, which allows precise to determine whether the offensive player was outside the last defender at the moment when the ball played.
Artificial intelligence oversees the whole process, analyzing the movement of the ball and the player to determine the offsid positions.
Then VAR officials review the system output to confirm accuracy before they transferred the decision to the judges on the field, which inform the players.
In addition, the 3D animated reruns generated by AI will be shown on television shows and screens in stadiums to provide a clear visual account of the fans’ decision.
