Jarrad Brathwaite can be an English star in Everton, says David Moyes

David Moyes believes that Jarrad Brathwaite can achieve his Entonon’s ambitions in Everton and does not have to leave Goodison Park to impress Thomas Tuchel.

There were a report this week that the defender was disappointed that he was left out of Tuchel’s first team and then considered his future at Merseyside.

But Moyes, who goes back to Toffees to neighbors Liverpool tomorrow night, pointed out that several other players are regularly in England while playing for Everton.

Moyes said: “I would tell him Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines, Joleon Lescott – these are the three we brought and continued to become international players for England, which was a great achievement.

Everton rose under Moyes

Everton’s form under Moyes was impressive. The nine league matches went undefeated and dragged themselves out of the relegation zone.

Scot received a lot of praise for his influence after returning to Goodison, but insists that he gladly let the players take praise.

He added: “This (statistics) says that they are the club and surely the team are on a better trajectory than we were before. We started very well. The players did a great job.

“There can be a lot to say about a new manager who is coming and I know that our job is to play them, but I have to say that the players picked up immediately, they turned the whole place – a bunch and support – and they started the race, which was really good.

“In fact, we were a little disappointed with a few drawings there, if we didn’t get victories.

“There may have been a few draws with which we could have some luck, but, on the whole, I think the players got everything they deserved.

“They had results and we want to continue that.”

Moyes chases the first victory of Anfield as the head of Everton

Moyes, who also managed Manchester United, Sunderland and West Ham in a top flight, does not have a good record against Liverpool, winning only six of the 43 meetings with Reds.

And desperately wants to seek the first win of Anfield in charge of Everton tomorrow night.

“It would be huge for us as a club to understand it because it’s not something that the club did especially often (either),” he said. “It was always difficult. I had a few drawings there, which I remember well, but it’s always tiring. We’re not just us, it’s hard for many clubs in the Premier League to go there and get the result.”
