‘We are good in our conditions …’

Former English captain Joe Root said that a team under the leadership of Ben Stokes would not have room to hide when he faced India in the upcoming five -match series. Joe Root, who is a key figure in England, stated that consistency would be key to his side to succeed against a strong Indian team in the series.

The 34-year-old surpassed Alastair Cook last year to become the highest period in England. Root led the team up to 27 wins in 64 matches before he left the captain. England secured only one win in 17 games in 2021, which included a disappointing loss of the Ashes series in Australia.

We are good in our own conditions – Joe Root

Joe Root is preparing for a difficult challenge against India at home. He emphasized that although England works well in their home conditions, they need consistency and maintained performances.

“We are good in our own conditions, but with India coming to a five -game series, there is no hiding place. It’s a long old syllable, you have to be consistent. You have to invest this over and over again,” for Sky Sports, Sky Sports, for the former Sky Skipper.

India has started its cycle of championship in the 2025-27 World Cup

India will start their cycle 2025-27 World Cup (WTC) World Cup with a series against England. Men in Blue have missed the final conflict between the WTC after consecutive losses of the series in New Zealand and Australia. India will look for a bounce. They have not won the test series in England since 2007.

India was on the verge of victory during the previous tour of England in 2021-2022. They took a 2-1 lead before the final match was postponed due to Coid-19. England won the fifth test when the series continued after almost a year. The upcoming Tour of England will start on June 20 at Headinogley, Leeds.

India faces several challenges if they want to secure a win in the series in England. There were doubts whether Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma be involved in a team for a tour in England, but recent reports indicate that they will be part of the team.

The champion trophy was disappointing – Joe Root

Joe Root admitted that England did not play its potential in the Champions 2025 trophy. He believes that failure offers a failure to reset and move forward as a group, with the aim of returning to the level of success they experienced between 2015 and 2019, including their 2019 World Cup victory.

“The champion trophy was disappointing. We didn’t play anywhere near what we are capable of, but there is so much talent and much more that comes from that team,” Root said.

“I think this is a really good opportunity to reset and again move forward as a group and return to heights that we know we are capable and where we were in the stage and around that stage from 2015 to 2019 (winning the 2019 World Cup),” he added.
