Promotor Bob Arum said Sky Sports Tyson Fury owes herself “himself and his family” to retire from boxing, saying that he believed the 36-year-old had “had enough”.
Return to January, Fury announced a retirement from boxing with the current effect, two days after Eddie Hearn revealed that Wembley was reserved for Fury to fight Anthony Joshua in the summer.
Fury previously announced retirement in April 2022. After defeating Dillian Whyte, but returned six months later to fight Derek Chisora in the Tottenham Hotspur trilogy. The 36-year-old also announced that he was retired in 2017, 2016 and 2013.
This time his decision should be final, Arum says: “I think Tyson Fury owes himself and his family to retire happily.
“Not from life, because I believe there is a lot in front of him. He is a good communicator and an entertainer, but I don’t think he should step into the ring anymore because I think he was enough.
“Fortunately, in the last few years of his career he has earned so much money his family or he will never want money. I would advise him not to return to the ring, but to make himself useful as a spokesman because he can communicate well.
“People intrigue him and I think he can do a lot of good.”
If Fury retired, a long British blockbuster between himself and Joshua will remain the one who never happened.
That struggle is not a big enough reason for Fury to reverse his decision, according to Arum.
“As you know, I’m not a British, so I’m not so fascinated by Anthony Joshua Vs Tyson Fury how the British could be,” the American said.
“So he doesn’t move me to get away from the box and get away from that fight.
“Tyson is a very external kind of person. He communicates well and reaches and expresses what he thinks. But that is said, I really don’t know what he will deeply do because I don’t think he really does.”
Asked if he would support Fury if he came out of his pension once again, Arum replied: “It is not to support or condemn it. No one forces him to do anything.
“If he wanted to come back and he wanted Top Rank to be part of his return, of course we would be ready to do it.
“That’s on it. I mean, he’s not a uneducated, stupid guy. Tyson Fury is very smart and very bright.
“She would be someone who decided to return his will, and if he wanted to include us, I would be glad to be involved.”
In the meantime, the promoter Frank Warren said Sky Sports That he did not hold fresh conversations about Fury’s return of the ring.
“If he wanted to come back, that would be his choice,” Warren said.
“I, I wouldn’t talk to him about it.
“That should be his decision if he did. In the meantime, I just want him to enjoy his life, to his family, because he enjoys it.”
Asked about Joshua’s main goals, Hearn added: “I just want to see him happy, leave the sport with an incredible heritage, which I think has already been reached. Not only is he a double world champion in a heavyweight category, but he has changed the face of sports in this country.
“He directed the way to become the norm for these stadium struggles, and I think he inspired a new generation of young boxers to go through the door of the amateur boxer club.
“But he still loves sports, he still thinks he physically has a lot to give, so this is the last cube and we have to correct it, we have to be ready and it will be very exciting.”
