Former Aidy Boothroyd boss under the age of 21 was diagnosed with Parkinsonov.
The 54-year-old, who collaborated with several young teams at the Football Federation between 2014 and 2021, revealed the news this morning.

In a statement on the website of the League Manager Association, Boothroyd said: “I was diagnosed with Parkinson three years ago.
“The news came to me as a huge shock, following what I expected to be my routine annual health estimate of LMA.
“It took me time to feel ready to share my diagnosis, and it was hard for me not to completely open with people.
“Personally, my passion and love for training are as strong as always, I focus on maintaining physical fit, which is crucial to slowing down the progress of Parkinson.
“I’m ready to start the next chapter in my life.
“I would like to thank LMA and Parkinson’s UK for their support.”
Boothroyd, who also had spells in charge of Watford, Colchester, Coventry and Northampton, was last coached with Jamshedpur in India in India.
LMA Executive Director Richard Bevan said: “Aidy has shown incredible positivity, determination and determination from the diagnosis of Parkinson’s three years ago. His passion for football and people drive him and continue to play an active role in LMA, as almost always an older article at our events and educational sessions.
“We deeply care about all our members, and Aidy’s attitude since his diagnosis was an inspiration for our whole team as we continue to support him and his family during this unexpected and challenging time.”
