Djed Spence opened that former Tottenham chief Antonio Conte “broke” confidence and says he had only one conversation with the Italian while he was the main one.
The right -back Bek Spence joined Spurs in a contract of £ 20 million from Middlesbroug in 2022, but then manager Conte barely played him, insisting that the former loan nottingham forest was a “investment for the club”, not his own signature.
The 24-year-old spent time on loan in Rennes, Leeds and Genoa since they arrived in northern London, but this season he broke aside Ange Postecoglou, regularly in both positions.
Speaking of his time under Conte, Spence said Rio Ferdinand represents Podcast: “It was not a nice feeling. Especially as I came to the club on the high, I was convinced, I was buzzing, I had a great season and just won the promotion.
“Then it was like running into a brick wall. I got a little bit of confidence. I’m young, it’s not nice to hear.
“I knew it was garbage at the time. It was not a nice feeling. I even went into a club like (blowing cheeks and shoulders of shoulders) and,” What am I doing? “
He added, “I feel like I did, that man (Conte) was not happy for anything.
“Even if you did the right things, you were like, ‘Did I do the right thing? “Because he’s not really a compliment.
“I probably talked to him.”

Spence also talked about a turning point in his career of Spurs this season, for which he became an important part of Spurs’s side.
“I think I was a victim of too humble,” he said. “Thinking that things will just happen without doing anything and saying nothing. But sometimes you have to express yourself.
“In my first year in Tottenham, I feel that I gave a little too much respect to the players and the environment because Tottenham came. I came from Forest, I go to the Premier League, a top club and I thought,” Phew, this is big. “
“I feel like I gave them too much respect that I wasn’t really alone, I was too humble with everything.
“When I went there, I saw players who were big names like Harry Kane and Sonny (Heung-my son), and I think,” I don’t want to get on someone’s toes. “
“But that was probably my biggest mistake, doing it and not expressing myself how I should have.”
Asked when that attitude changed, Spence replied: “I would probably say this season, the beginning of the year.
“I think it just happens naturally. I don’t have time to lose. I have to go, it’s time so it just clicks.”
