Thomas Tuchel invited Jude Bellingham to “play economic” while a new English manager looks like he would build his team around a dynamic midfielder.
The three Lions chief said that Bellingham was “key player”, but that the Real Madrid star “tried to do too much” while England started her World Cup campaign 2026. With a 2-0 win over Albania at Wembley on Friday in the first game of Tuchel.

One such aspect that German specified was the contribution of Bellingham, which Tuchel believes should show more disciplines to preserve energy.
“He is a key player for us and will be a key player,” Tuchel said of the 21-year-old. “Now our job is to find a structure and space to make the most of it.”
“He had a few prominent moments, but sometimes he felt he was trying to do too much.
“He is always ready to give everything, but we have to help him so that he can play more economically within the structure and still have the same influence, or maybe even greater influence.
“We have to make sure that the leaders, and he is one of the leaders, and the main players walk in the same direction and play in the same pace and help each other. And play a little more disciplined to save a little energy for decisive moments.”
Tuchel also emphasized his desire to channel his emotions Bellingham, but he greeted his character and competitiveness on the field.
“He loves talking to the judge and drawings,” Tuchel said. “He is a very emotional player once he is on the field, and you just see that he hates lose and do everything he needs. He expresses himself.
“You see a hunger and a desire to win. I think he’ll keep this hunger and learn a little channel emotions. It’s never a problem. It’s good to have it as it is. We’ll try to get the most out of it because he’s a key player.”
