Scotland ‘still has work to do,’ says manager Clarke

Scottish manager Steve Clarke says he still has to work after their victory in the play 1-0 against Greece in Athens.

Scott McTominay scored a sentence, and the Scots could go ahead on a break in an impressive exhibition.

However, 17-year-old Constantinos Parretsas entered and caused a desolation, and Greece is unhappy that he is not directly direct for his return leg at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Scotland wants to stay in League A, while the Greeks want to get out of the league B after they finished second behind England and in front of the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Clarke said, “Game further. It’s still open. I don’t see the game being closed at all.

“I thought the Greeks were good in the second half. Their record was good at group stages.

“They went to Ireland and won pleasantly, went to Finland and won comfortably and went to Wembley and won, so the game was still open.

“I thought we were great in the first half, we played the ball very well, they created some good chances, it might be further ahead of halftime.

“To be fair to the Greeks, they went out into the second half and came to us and stopped us as we play.”
