Defender Premier League sued a former agent for financial dispute

Right back Crystal Palace Daniel Munoz found himself entangled in legal troubles, as his former agent Ruben Caicedo filed a lawsuit against him and agent Juan Pablo Angela for an unpaid commission relating to the Munozi Munoz’s transfer.

Munoz, who was joined in January 2024 by Crystal Palace from Belgian Side Genk for a reported 8 million fee, is now facing a legal request that requires almost £ 1 million (1.2 million dollars plus interest).

Colombia reports indicate that Caicedo has conducted legal proceedings for months, claiming that he was owed payments from the agreement.

According to EvaluationCaicedo stated that he first contacted the player in early January 2023. While the player was still in Genk. The agent claims that Munoz confirmed that there was no offer at the time, revealed a 5 million euro release clause and expressed his desire to move to Crystal Palace.

Caicedo claims that he played a key role in facilitating the move, but later he was aside when Juan Pablo Angel took over negotiations.

The agent claims that after the transfer was completed, he expected to receive the agreed share of the Commission. However, he claims that Angel intervened in the process, and as a result, the payment never came true.

The Crystal Palace Sports Director, Dougie Freedman, reportedly informed Caicedo that the Commission had already been transferred to the accounts provided by the player and his new agent Angel. Without a resolution, Caicedo has taken legal procedures.
