Ramirez is ready to overthrow Garcia vs. Haney 2: It is possible upset in New York

Ryan Garcia yesterday discovered that he and Devin Haney must win their quarrels on May 2. In order for their rematch to happen in October.

It is a terrible news for Haney because it is hard to fight former WBC Light Welterweight Teage Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 ko). Even before Ryan kicked the starch from Devin last April, Ramirez would be a nightmare for him because of his style, power and amateur genera.

Kingry’s promoter Golden Boy, Oscar de la Hoya, has previously leaked that Haney (31-0, 15 ko) will have to win in his fight against Ramirez at Card Times Square in New York for a rematch with Ryan to fall.

Plan b

Garcia does not say what plan b It will be for him and Devin if one or both fighters lose at an event on May 2. Ryan will not be a big deal if Haney is beaten because he got a rematch with Gervont Davis, he could take and make a huge money in that fight if the tank is ready to reach 147. Ryan said he would not fight Tank at 140 because he was too big for that division.

Ryan Garcia: “It’s Devin.”

Akin: “But he has to win (against Jose Ramirez on May 2).”

Ryan: “He has to win. We can’t go through our opponents. Yes, we have already faced and we are already ready to go.”

If Haney loses Ramirez, the best he can hope for is a rematch with him to try to save the situation with revenge defeat. Maybe if Devin wins the second fight, Turks Alalshikh may still be willing to fight Garcia in early 2026.

Ramirez’s threat

Ryan and de la Hoya should not be on Haney’s victory in his fight against Ramirez on May 2. They should look at that fight with open eyes, knowing that Haney’s beard is brittle and that they are likely to fall apart under Ramirez’s power. Jose and his coach, Robert Garcia, have already said he would target Haney’s glass jaw, wanting to knock him out.

This refers to Ramirez swinging for fences with every thrown staff, focusing on the knockout. Although Haney will have a year to recover from the beating he took from Garcia last April, it may not be enough for his head to be 100% ready to shoot the forces with which Ramirez will hit him.
