Harry Kane requires a ruthless approach from England and invites players to “dig each other”

Harry Kane says that England players should have “unpleasant conversations” and “dig” if they want to progress as a team.

New boss Thomas Tuchel spoke about the need for improved communion if three lions were caused in the World Cup final in the United States, Canada and Mexico in 15 months.

Captain Kane emphasized that this is currently a close group, but admitted that perhaps a confrontation approach is needed if England wants to win a big trophy for the first time in 60 years.

Speaking in front of the first game of Tuchel, against Albania, tomorrow night, striker Bayern Munich said: “I think the next step is to enter into detail and have unpleasant conversations with each other on the field and outside the field when things are not quite on the way.

“Not only to be a friend to your teammates, but dig up your teammate and push them in a different way. I think it’s the next step.

“But in order to usually be on the winning team, you still have to be ready to keep those conversations.”

Leadership Group is yet to form

This re -placement is usually generated by the team leader, but Kane said that this is yet to be arranged, adding: “We had brief conversations about it. It wasn’t formed yet. You have me, Hendo (Jordan Henderson), you have Kyle (Walker).

“Obviously, Dan (Burn) entered his first camp, but I think the day in his role is seen as a leader. We have like Declana Ricea and Jude (Bellingham) and such players, although the younger ones have responsibility to show these leader qualities.

“Not much is said, but I’m sure we will continue to continue when we are far from the camp to the June camp during the next few days. Talks will be common.”

Kane acknowledges questions at the euros

In a sincere interview with ITV Sport, aired earlier on Thursday, Tuchel criticized England’s predecessor Gareth Southgate and said that the team was “afraid” and that “did not have identity and hunger” in Euro 2024.

Asked for his thoughts, Kane admitted that there was a factor of fear to play a team that potentially arose because of his status before the tournament as a favorite.

He said, “I think there were more expectations than what we had in any other tournament. In 2018, without expectations, in 2020 not so much. We were not favorites in the World Cup in Qatar, but we managed to do well.

“This was probably the first we were one of the favorites. It was clear that people expected us to win the tournament. Although we leaned in the experience we all had in other tournaments, we couldn’t quite find a rhythm, we couldn’t quite find energy together.

“In one sense, it shows how good our character and resistance are still to reach the European finals. But surely when we look at those games back, we didn’t have the rhythm we had in other games.”

Brings energy – henna on Tuchel

Kane worked under Tuchel last season at Bayern Munich and is pleased that he will be able to reconnect internationally.

He said about Germany: “It brings a lot of energy when it is on the ground. I think it definitely fell in that, and the team responded very well.

“He talks very directly, he knows what he wants and knows what he wants from his team. It doesn’t matter who you are or how many games you have played, he will tell you the same as he will say to one of the young players he wants and this is a good standard to set up.”
