Why did Jordan Pickford support Jordan Henderson’s return in three Lions

Jordan Pickford says Jordan Henderson “is the winner and great leader” and is delighted to see him in the England team.

Henderson made his debut with three lions in 2010, but did not play for his country since November 2023, shortly after making a controversial transition from Liverpool to Saudi Arabic side of Al-E-ettifaq.

His stay in the Middle East was short -lived and joined Ajax in January 2024 and impressed it with Amsterdammer.

Was still a choice of surprise when Thomas Tuchel appointed his first team in England last week But Pickford, who went through the ranks in Sunderland, like Henderson, thinks it is a reasonable move.

Everton goalkeeper said: “His desire to want to win and what he conquered and achieved himself.

“The winner is also a great leader. I think the return of Hendo is great for the team.

“He was a vice-president of the depth of the year. He did not reach the last euros, but in 2018 he was a Vice-Captain in Harry (Kane).

“I think someone is like Hendo, it’s great. Having leaders in your group, teams who won always had that experience aside.

“I think it’s a great move to have someone like him in the composition. What he did, how he still rides – whether play or not, will be a training leader.”

Experience will help England – Pickford

The Henson was joined by the Newcastle defendant Dan Burn and Pickford in the team, he believes that they will have some older heads around that they can benefit from being prepared to open the World Cup qualification campaign with the home games against Albania and Latvia.

“We have been knocking on the door for some time. We were in two finals, semi -finals and a quarter of the finals,” he added.

“This is the next step now. We know what is needed to get there. It’s about what it takes to raise a trophy, and that’s what the manager has entered.
