Vaibhav Suryavanshi to be intended for the whole tournament? Is revealed by Assistant Rahul Dravid

Coach Rajasthan Royals (RR) Vikrum Rathour suggested that 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi may not play in the Indian Premier League season (IPL) 2025.

Rajasthan Royals signed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for ₹ 1.1 crown during the IPL 2025 mega auction. The dough became the youngest player ever purchased at IPL. Suryavanshi impressed himself by hitting the young people, but his skills against international bowlers remain unverified.

Vikram Rathour said Vaibhav Suryavanshi may not immediately make the IPL debut immediately. He said the young dough had exceptional talent, but he added that his choice would depend on different factors. Rathour also stated that Suryavanshi could develop into a top player with his strength hit.

“I am not sure whether or not to use it, it will depend on the strategy, the surface and the opposition. We bought his services because he is a very special player,” Rathour said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“There are a lot of abilities, he may be young, but I barely saw the player who possessed the strength he has. The signs are great, and if he works hard, I’m sure he’ll be a big player,” he added.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi entered the center of attention after breaking a century out of 58 balls in the Red Ball match between India’s U-19 and Australia U-19 in Chennai. On the eve of the IPL 2025, Suryavanshi represented Bihar in the Vijay Hazare 2024-25 trophy, reaching 132 rides in six ups on average 22.

However, punching in a well -set line Rajasthan Royals might be a challenge. With players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanja Samson, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel on the team, the young dough may have to wait for his chance.

Rahul Dravid is a great coach – Vikram Rathour

Vikrum Rathour, joined by Rajasthan Royals in September 2024, reunited with Chief Coach Rahul Dravid. The duo worked together in the Indian lineup, where they played a key role in the success of India through formats, including the ICC triumph for the men’s T20 World Cup.

Rathour expressed excitement for association with Dravid, calling him a great coach. He added that, although the IPL is a shorter tournament compared to a perennial international crisis, their work dynamics would generally remain the same.

“There will be no difference. We worked together earlier, he’s a great coach. I really enjoyed my mandate with him. When we were on the Indian team, we were fortunate to win the World Cup. Otherwise, there is not much difference, IPL is a shorter tournament and Indian cricket is a year,” said Rathour.

The former Indian cricket said his coaching role revolves around the support of the players, providing guidelines and helping them at their best.

“The good thing is to do with the same pile of players, we may have the same players for up to three years. You have different blows to the Indian team in all formats. As for the training, it is about helping the team, supporting them, somehow and achievement of the best performance from them,” Rathour explained.
