Lucas Bergvall says receiving the praise of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a pleasant experience.
The young midfielder Tottenham earned admiration for the Spanish coach after his impressive display against City at the end of February, despite the fact that the Spurs fell to a 1-0 defeat at home.
While Tottenham endured a frustrating evening, Bergvall’s appearance in the middle of the field distinguished himself as a peak for the side of Ange Postecoglou.
His impact on the game attracted the attention of Guardiola, who spoke about the Swedish International at his conference for high Swedish international journalists.
“Bergvall, every time he has the ball and runs, unstoppable,” Guardiola said.
“Spence, Pedro Porro, Udogie, Kulusevski, Son. It’s an amazing physical team with a clear idea to play, and they play really good.”

He is currently an international duty with Sweden, Bergvall asked about Guardiola’s remarks and shared his perspective on receiving such a recognition.
“Of course it’s fun, but in the big picture, it doesn’t really matter,” he told SVT Sport. “I’m just trying to play football and develop all the time and help the team. It’s always fun to get praise and you should bring it in. But I try not to put too much emphasis on it.”
Despite Tottenham’s struggles this season, he sat with the club 14th in the Premier League, the appearance of Bergvall -a -a young man Archie Gray provided some optimism.
Postecoglou had to move in a season of tortured injuries, and Bergvall believes that the circumstances were particularly challenging for certain players.
“I don’t think it’s fair season to be honest. Not considering how much damage we had. I don’t know what the reason is, but as we talked to Dejan (Kulusevski), many have played an amazing number of minutes. It’s not human, so of course it’s a big factor.”
On the international stage, Bergvall has performed four appearances for Sweden, but one has yet to start the game.
This will, however, change, because national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson confirmed that he would be in the starting lineup for a friendly friendly Swedish against Luxembourg.
“It’s fun, but it’s not something I thought about so much,” Bergvall said. “Jon and I talked a little, but no more specific, we’ll do it during the day here. I’ll just play it as I did in Tottenham and be able to contribute as much as possible.”
