Manchester United legend Paul Scholes criticized Sir Jim Ratcliffe for searching for external financing to finance the construction of a new stadium for the club.
United executives have recently announced ambitious plans to demolish Old Trafford and replace it with a modern stadium, which will cost around £ 2 billion.
The co -owner of Ratcliffe described the proposed place as one of the best in the world.
However, Ratcliffe has not yet revealed how the project will be funded, and reports suggest that it relies on private investments and potential government assistance.
Scholes, a club icon, was unconstitutioned by Ratcliffe’s intentions, suggesting that the words themselves were not enough.
Talking about Sky Bet, “Discussing the fans overlap,” Scholes said, “Sometimes you can be gullible and believe what he (Ratcliffe) says, just because you have never heard of anything to say anything before.
“Words are cheap, aren’t they …” 🤷♂️

“You do not know how realistic it is, everything is in the air. The words are cheap, and we could say anyone, you can say that in the 10 years we will have the largest and best stadium.
“We have been called the richest club in the world for a long time, but I feel like we ask a little, looking for a stadium and we need £ 2 billion and sell players to buy players.”
Ratcliffe, who led the initiative for a new Arena of 100,000 seats, defended the decision to move away from the Dream Theater and insisted that there was a need for upgrade.
Talking about the club’s vision for the future, he said: “Our current stadium has served us brilliantly for the last 115 years, but has lagged behind the best arena in world sports.
“With the construction next to the existing place, we will be able to preserve the essence of Old Trafford, at the same time creating a true top stadium that transforms only the steps of fans from our historic home.”
The proposal caused a discussion among fans and experts, with some supporting the idea of a world class stadium, while others remain concerned about financial sustainability and potential disorders during the transitional period.
