Boxing has taken another key step towards merging its place at the Olympic Games.
The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended on Monday that boxing was included in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
The sport was taken away from the Olympic Games after being full of a series of official scandals, corruption allegations and lack of financial transparency.
The former box control body, Iba under the leadership of Russian, was thrown out of the Olympic movement for failure in reform. Moo Sam has launched boxing tournaments at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris, but he wouldn’t do that for the third time.
This left boxing on the trail to crash from the Olympic Games once and until a new body formed, a world boxing box that sought to replace IBA and get Olympic recognition.
Last month, IOC approved of the World Boxing Acknowledgment as a boxer new management body, and now the Executive Board of IOC has decided to put sports forward on the IOC session for including the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
The IOC session will have to vote when meeting this week to approve of the Executive Board’s proposal, but as long as the box will be renovated in the La 2028 competition program.
