Williams title hopes on the line: must beat Volny to secure Hearno’s middle weight plan

Promotor Eddie Hearn wants to position Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams for the title he shot in the middle category, but he has to win his headliner against Patrice Volny this Saturday, March 15th. Williams (17-1, 12 ko) and Volny (19-1, 13 ko) meet at a major event in 12 rounds at Cariba Royale, Orlando, Florida. The event will be displayed He lives on a given.

Hearn blames some of Williams’ past less impressive performances that he did not have an ideal preparation. He was “indifferent” at the camp and not completely “mentally” ready. His eleventh round nokaut loss from Hamzah Sheerase last year could be what Hearn is talking about. In that fight, Ammo injured Sheeraz early, but failed to go for the murder. Losing the job of hip, as Sheeraz was disappointing because it was a very winning struggle if Ammo put his leg on the accelerator.

Hearn’s vision

Volny, 35, can hit and knock out his last three opponents. If Williams can’t get him out of there, he could be at risk of stopping him for a second time. This would spoil Hearno’s plans to obviously get him a title, and he might have to re -examine his career goals for him.

“The problems of the mule in the past were not that he was not good enough, it was that his preparation was not good enough. Sometimes it is not mentally 100%there. Williams, 28, lost only once in his six -year career, but did not face the killers other than Sheeraz, which is deeply flawed. The other 17 guys who fought for AMMO were not a name that most fans never heard.

“This is one of the first time he had a strong, decent camp. This is a difficult fight. Volny is a big guy and is a serious medium weight,” Hearn said. “He’s a good fighter. Volny is a real big guy. Standing beside ammunition, he looked like super medium weight. It is hard to believe that he will make weight tomorrow because it looks huge. Williams appeared short and thin beside him.

“The fact that he is still here after all those questions and problems he had, but you have to count it,” Hearn said about Amm. “The stories are beautiful, but if you win, you can just do so much with the story. When you compare people with ammunition, it’s ride roller skirts. Let’s not distort it in thinking it’s okay to lose. It’s never okay to lose, but you can surely come back from that.”

Only so much is a promoter, build a fighter by telling his life story. These things do not work with fans if the fighter does not win. They will not worry about what the fighter has passed in their lives to get where they are. If he doesn’t win, the fans will not bother to pay attention.

Mora-Win fight

“The reality is, in this sport, if you are not good enough, you will not win. This is it. If you are not good enough, you can look in the mirror. As long as you gave it everything, then you can go again,” Hearn said.

“You have a lot of quality fighters, but you have a lot of fighters who do not have huge profiles looking for opportunities against good names in exciting fights,” Hearn said when asked what the Austin Williams are in the middle category if he is a winner against Volny on Saturday.

“You have WBO champion (Janibek Alimkhanuly). I think he’ll move at some point (at 168). You just saw (WBC Champ) Carlos Adames beat Hamzah Sheeraz. He is a good fighter, but I didn’t blow it. Then you have (WBA champion Erislandy) Lara. He is a great fighter but continues (41).

“Listen, we want a middle -class World Cup with AMMO Williams, but he has to win Saturday,” Hearn said.
