The newly appointed Kolkat Captain Knight Riders (KKR) Ajinkya Rahana opened the high price of Venkatesh Iyer for the IPL 2025 season. Rahane defended Iyer’s high price, adding that the left dough was consistently good for the franchise in Kolkuta and in full deserved its salary.
Venkatesh Iyer did not retain KKR on the eve of the auction of the IPL 2025. The Knight drivers were auctioned and secured Iyer for 23.75 RS. He became the fourth most expensive player in IPL history. The price of comprehensive Madhya Pradesh has caused a discussion in the crislet brother.

Speaking at a pre -season press conference, Ajinkya Rahane said Iyer deserved his price. He urged the media to stop examining the amount and instead support the team that goes ahead.
“I want to tell you everything Venkatesh Iyer deserved that price,” Rahana said at a press conference ahead of IPL 2025.
“People talk about all these things, but he has repeatedly acted well for this franchise, so I think he deserves that price. I just want to tell you that you support the team, and don’t ask all these questions at the next press conferences or wherever,” he added.

Iyer admitted that the pressure of his price was inevitable, but he added that he would become irrelevant after the season began. Iyer also said players have to learn to put in pressure.
“Wherever I go, I ask me this question, so it exists, right? You can’t completely neglect it. When IPL will start, it really doesn’t matter. You’re part of the XI player, you are part of the team that goes there to win,” Iyer said.
“It really doesn’t matter what price you have chosen or what is expected of you. The pressure is always there, no matter what, if not the price, it will be something else. It will be a selection or hitting in multiple positions, the pressure will still be there,” he added.

Kolkat Knight Riders won the IPL 2024 title under Captain Shreyas Iyer. Venkatesh Iyer played a key role in KKR Triumph, scoring 370 runs in 13 stabs in an impressive average of 46.25 and a 158.80 strike, including four half a century.
Overall, he played 51 IPL matches, accumulating 1,326 runs on an average of 31.57, with 11 half a century and one century. He also took three shots with the ball.
For IPL 2025, Ajinkya Rahane was appointed a new KKR captain, and Iyer was named Vice-Captain. Knight Riders will start the season against the Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) on March 2nd in Eden Gardens.
Rahane is ready to play his second stay from Knight Riders in IPL. He played for the franchise in the 2022 season, scoring 133 rides in seven matches.
