An expert reveals the reason behind the sinking of Martin Odegaard in the form

Arsenal’s turbulent season left them only one last chance for silver accessories: Champions League. While the artillery prepares for a key quarterfinals against Real Madrid, their campaign hangs in balance.

Currently, there are 15 points behind the leaders of the Premier League of Liverpool and already eliminated with both domestic Cup competitions, Arsenal struggled to find consistency.

Injuries to the key players and the absence of a reliable scorer naked, further pulled out their challenge title.

In the midst of an inconsistent form of Arsenal, club captain Martin Odegaard faced criticism for his recent performances.

However, journalist Charles Watts came to the Norwegian defense, claiming that part of the return blow was overly sharp.

Watts: Criticism of Martin Odegaard is unfair

Although Watts admitted that Odegaard did not exactly match the high standards he set in the previous seasons, he stressed that external factors contributed to his or her own in shape.

One of the key questions was the disorder on the right side of the Arsenal attack. The absence of Bukayo Saka and Ben White, the two players with whom Odegaard developed a strong understanding, forced a playmaker to adapt to different teammates.

In addition, Norwegian is still recovering from his first major injury, after returning to action earlier than expected. As the main creative power of Arsenal, the 26-year-old carries the burden of guiding the offensive game. When they fight around him, it becomes even more difficult to influence the games as effectively as before.

Speaking solely to catch Daily briefingWatts shared his thoughts about the criticism of Odgaard:

“I’ll be honest, I just can’t bypass many criticisms Martin Odegaard late.

“It is certainly fair to criticize some of his performances because, as he admits to himself, he was not good enough compared to the high standards he set in recent years.

“But some criticisms crossed it. Was he without a color? Yes. Was he awful? Absolutely no.

“When you evaluate Odegaard’s shape, you need to consider some context.

“The right side of the attack, which he became so accustomed to and is successful completely decimated.

“Odegaard has been named Arsenal’s player of the season for each of the last two seasons, it has been deserved and so. He struggled to maintain this form of this season, but every conversation about replacing him at this stage is just funny.

“I’m convinced we’ll see him the best soon.”

Arsenal has eyes set on the glory of the Champions League as the last hope of silver accessories

Despite the criticism, Odegaard continued to contribute to five goals and seven assists in 31 appearances in all competitions this season.

Given that the Premier League title is seemingly out of reach, Arsenal will now draw attention to European success. They were cruised by 9-3 to the aggregate to progress to the quarterfinals.

Their next test will be against the European giants and the king’s competition Real Madrid, which will serve as a significant return home for Odegaard in Santiago Bernabé.

As Arsenal’s captain and creative lynchpin, he will be under a huge pressure to achieve on the biggest stage.

Showed what he was able to do against PSV during their 7-1 victory last week because he put in a world-class performance on which he left Chris Sutton in awe.

If he can rediscover his best form, it could be Spark Arsenal to stay alive my champions league dreams.
