Barcelona plays delayed after the death of the first team

The Barcelona conflict of La Liga with Osasun was postponed after the death of the first team doctor, Carles Minarra Garcia.

The match was supposed to start at 8pm (time in the UK) in Estada Olimpic Lluis Companys, however, the club revealed the news of Garcia passing shortly before the start and confirmed that the game would not go ahead.

According to initial reports in Spain, Minarro Garcia, 40, died at the Team Hotel in the lead to the match. He has worked at the club since 2017.

In a statement, the club said: “Barcelona is deeply sad that she announced the passage of the first team of Carles Miñarra García tonight,” the club said.

“For this reason, the match against Osasuna has been postponed and will be remodeled for later.

“The Barcelona Board of Directors and all staff express our sincere condolences to their family and friends in this difficult time.”

The opponents of the Catalan club, Osasun, also posted a message on social networks: “Osasuna wants to convey his deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Carles Miñarra Garcia and would like to send a warm hug to his FC Barcelona staff, as well as his fans, in this difficult time. May he rest in peace. “
