Rangers win ‘good result’ jokes Mourinho

Jose Mourinho says his defeat of Fenerbahce 3-1 at home Rangers was a “good result”, and his team “were very bad everywhere.”

Mourinho has won every great European honor, including the Europa League with Manchester United, but has a job on his hands to raise another one this season after Rangers brought a famous victory in Istanbul.

But Mourinho says the tie is not over and returns laterally to perform at Ibrox on Ibrox.

“I don’t think it’s fair to say we were a bad defense because we were very bad everywhere,” Mourinho said.

“You may be laughing, but for me it was a good result because of the way we performed, the result could have been greater than this.

“We made amazing, amazing mistakes in defense. They defend themselves a lot with a very low block, and then they had dangerous counter and we had no pace to follow that.

“So, for me, I have to say that we deserve the punishment of this result. If anyone wants to ask me if it’s over, no, I don’t think it’s over.”

‘One of the best ever’

Rangers’ temporary chief Barry Ferguson was full of praise for Mourinho after led his side to victory.

He said, “It’s only halftime because Fenerbahce got one of the best managers he has ever been.

“I am proud of the boys because they have gone through a lot this season. They deserve a lot of loans.

“We have to be ready for next Thursday and, I tell you something, I’ll prepare them.”
