Ange Postecoglou admitted that his Tottenham side lacked a “top-notch advantage”, but praised that the second half of his players showed, despite the fact that he fell to a 1-0 defeat of Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Erling Haaland, returning from absence with two games, found the net after 12 minutes in the city in the first half. But both sides turned out to be scattered and, in the end, the Spurs were left to pass a few good chances that went through after the rest.
The City’s victory brings them back to the top four of the league, while Pep Guardiola, who called Postecoglou, called a “exceptional” manager, reduced his full -time figure.
“The first half was hard,” Postecoglou told TNT Sports. “They (city) had a rise and they achieved a few good chances.
“But I thought we had dominated the second half and we just missed the goal. We dominated the ball, dominated the territory, we closed them back.
“We just missed that peak in the last third.”

Guardiola also emphasized the lack of the quality of his side in front of the goal, but said he was pleased that his team had moved to the line.
“(I’m really happy about three points – it’s a (football) job,” said the city boss.
“The second half was open because he did not close the game in the first. We had so many close chances and for the quality we have to turn.
“We knew we would suffer in the second (half), but the guys did it. They fought a lot and I was really pleased.”
Guardiola was also free of charge for city opponents: “This is one of the best depths I have ever seen. The manager (postecoglou) is exceptional and they are a fantastic team.”
Next for Tottenham is a trip to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League circle of 16th first leg on March 6th, while City is on Saturday in Fa Cup fourth round, when the Plymouth Argyle championship hosts, who knocked out Liverpool in the last round.
