Deciding first, South Africa lost Tony de Zorzi early, but Ryan Rickelton held a scratch along with 103 of 106 balls composed, hitting seven four and six. Captain Tembo Bavuma contributed to a stable 58 of 76, while Razie Van der Dusen and Aiden Markkum accelerated the scoring with Quickfire to the fifties. Rahmat Shah’s resistance in vain as Rabada runs a mess
The Afghan chase embarked on a trembling start while Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi hit early blows. Ibrahim Zadran, after hitting six Rabada, was purely charged at the next delivery, setting the tone dominating South Africa. Rahmat Shah appeared as a lone warrior in Afghanistan, reaching a bold 90 of the 92 balls, but lacked support from the rest of the lineup.
The Afghan mid -line collapsed under pressure, and hashmatullah Shahidi left for a duck, and Mohammad Nabi operated only 8 out of 17 balls. Rashid Khan tried to have fun with the 18 -km, but a disciplined bowling attack Proteas ensured that Afghanistan never approached the goal.
Rabada, Lungi Ngida and Wiaan Mulder seal the victory
Kagiso Rabada was in his deadly best, picking up 3/36 at 8.3 additives, including key Wickket Ibrahim Zadran. Wiaan Mulder and Lungi Ngida provided excellent support, taking two hickets each, while Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj were thrown into a trail at a piece. Their collective effort ended the Ubacje in Afghanistan for 208, sealing the highlighting victory for South Africa.
For his winning century, which set a victory in South Africa, Rickelton was deservedly named the match player. His knock laid the foundation for the total that proved to be too steep for Afghanistan, ensuring that South Africa began its champion of the Trophy 2025 champion on the winning note.
With this dominant performance, Proteas have sent a strong message to Group B rivals, while Afghanistan will need to be too gross to remain in the semi -final place.
