South Africa strongly started the ICC Champion Campaign Trophy 2025 with a convincing victory of 107 run over Afghanistan in Karachi’s national stadium. First by hitting, Proteas set up an imposing 315/6, thanks to the magnificent century from Ryan Rickelton. Afghanistan, in response, failed in their chase and expelled for 208 in 43.3 additives.

For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi was the choice of bowlers, claiming 2/51 in his 10 supplements. Fazalhaq Farooqi, Azmatullah Omarzai and Noor Ahmad inserted with Wickket, but the attack struggled to restrain Proteas’s fireplace.

Rahmat Shah’s resistance in vain as Rabada runs a mess

The Afghan chase embarked on a trembling start while Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi hit early blows. Ibrahim Zadran, after hitting six Rabada, was purely charged at the next delivery, setting the tone dominating South Africa. Rahmat Shah appeared as a lone warrior in Afghanistan, reaching a bold 90 of the 92 balls, but lacked support from the rest of the lineup.

The Afghan mid -line collapsed under pressure, and hashmatullah Shahidi left for a duck, and Mohammad Nabi operated only 8 out of 17 balls. Rashid Khan tried to have fun with the 18 -km, but a disciplined bowling attack Proteas ensured that Afghanistan never approached the goal.

Rabada, Lungi Ngida and Wiaan Mulder seal the victory

Kagiso Rabada was in his deadly best, picking up 3/36 at 8.3 additives, including key Wickket Ibrahim Zadran. Wiaan Mulder and Lungi Ngida provided excellent support, taking two hickets each, while Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj were thrown into a trail at a piece. Their collective effort ended the Ubacje in Afghanistan for 208, sealing the highlighting victory for South Africa.

For his winning century, which set a victory in South Africa, Rickelton was deservedly named the match player. His knock laid the foundation for the total that proved to be too steep for Afghanistan, ensuring that South Africa began its champion of the Trophy 2025 champion on the winning note.
