Job Enzo Maresca as Chelsea chief 100% safe according to the Blues director


Chelsea chief Enzo Maresca remains “100%” safe in his position for the season, despite the fall of the team in form, said club director Jonathan Goldstein.

After leaving Leicester City, Maresca monitored the impressive start to her term in West London.

Chelsea competed with Liverpool and Arsenal for the Premier League title that went on to the Christmas period.

However, from their 2-0 victory over Brentford in December, Chelsea only managed to only two wins in the last nine league devices.

Their latest failure was a grave defeat of 4-0 in Brighton, causing concern about their performance.

Despite the club history of managerial changes, Chelsea has now fallen to sixth place, slipping out of the Champions League qualifiers.

However, Goldstein publicly expressed his support to Maresci, becoming the first member of the committee to do so.

“It’s a great job,” Goldstein said, a key figure at a Blueco consortium, who gained Chelsea in 2022. “Chelsea started the season very well.

“For the past six weeks, you know, they found their feet a little more. But Enzo obviously did a great job in gathering a team, bringing in talent.

Asked if Maresca would remain in charge of the rest of the season, Goldstein simply said, “100%.”

Chelsea will face Aston Villa on Saturday in a key match that could significantly affect their chances of security of European football next season.

Although Chelsea initially seemed to be candidates for the title, Maresca consistently stated that their basic focus had always secured the best four endings, not to challenge the championship.
