United Airlines announced on Tuesday that it plans to restart flights to Israel next month, making it the first major US airline in the United States this year.
On March 15, United will resume Newark service in Tel Aviv, and will add a second daily flight from March 29, the airline said in a statement.
“This resumption follows a detailed evaluation of the operational considerations for the region and the closed work with the unions represented by our attendees and flight pilots,” it is said in the statement.
“The United has a long -term commitment to serve Tel Aviv, and this return will make United the first airline in the United States to resume service this year,” the statement added.
The United will “continue to evaluate” if he restored additional “demand -based daily daily flights”, the statement said.
United SUSPECTED SERVICE ON TEL AVIV Last summer amid increasing tensions in the region.
The announcement of the resumption of the airline’s flight service comes less than a month after Israel and Hamas hit a fragile three -phase cessation Agreement that would return the hostages in exchange for prisoners and set a path to a halt permanent fire.
Delta announced last week that he would resume daily flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York in Tel Aviv from April 1.
“The Delta decision to resume the service follows a comprehensive security review, carried out in close coordination with the members of the Government and the private sector. The airline continues to prioritize the safety of its customers and crew and has implemented additional precautions for the operations of and from Tel Aviv, “said Delta in his announcement last week.
