Trump retires from 2 United Nations organs, review of UNESCO orders

President Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council and participating in UNRWA, the United Nations Agency for Palestinian refugees.

Trump also directed the United States to review its participation in the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the body that uses culture and history as a mechanism for the construction of bridges among nations.

“I have always heard that the UN has enormous potential. It is not to be up to this potential right now. It really doesn’t do it for a long time, “Trump said in Oval Office observations on Tuesday.

“There is great hopes, but it is not well directed, to be honest.”

While the orders were invoiced as “anti-American bias” in the UN, they were signed shortly before Trump met with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel and the United States have accused the Human Rights Council of directing and unjustly malignant Israel. In 2019, the United States and Israel retired from UNESCO, with Israel criticizing the agency as a “erasure” of Jewish history Within the borders of Israel.

Trump stopped the funds for UNRWA during his first term. President Biden put a blog on the North -Americans for UNRWA in January 2024 due to the allegations that the agency staff participated in the October 7 attack on Hamas of 2023 against Israel. These funds were never reset when Biden left office.

An Israeli law that banned the United Nations Agency from operating in Israel last week.
