Moderate Sen. Susan CollinsR-Maine, revealed his plan to support the Tlosi Gabbard candidacy for being director of National Intelligence (DNI) on Monday evening.
“After a wide consideration of his candidacy, I will support Tlosi Gabbard To be the director of National Intelligence, “he said in a statement.
“As one of the main authors of the Law on Reforming Reform of Intelligence and the Prevention of Terrorism that established this position of coordination, I understand the critical role that the DNI in the Intelligence Community. Collins is located on the Senate Intelligence Selection Committee, which will begin on Tuesday in Gabbard’s candidacy, confirmed sources in Fox News Digital.

It joins a good handful of other Republicans of the Committee who have already said they will vote to advance Gabbard on the Senate floor, including the sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas and James Lankford, R-Okla.
However, another commission’s GOP senator is still considered one to see, as it is expected that Gabbard needs all the votes of Republican members to move forward.

Senator Todd Young, R-Ind., He has not said how he plans to vote in Committee. For this reason, he has managed to obtain criticism of Trump -aligned billionaire, Elon Musk, who recently told X that Young is a “deep state puppet” in terms of uncertainty about Gabbard. Musk also shared X over the weekend, explaining: “He only had an excellent conversation with (young). I have been corrected. Senator Young will be a great ally to restore power to the people of the vast bureaucracy not selected ”.
While Collins’ support is based on Gabbard’s fate at the Committee level, it also provides for a better perspective between the full Senate, given its vote against Hegseth. If you move on to the vote of the flat, Gabbard can allow only three republican votes to be lost, assuming that it does not gain any democratic support.
