Alphonso Davies committed his future to Bayern from Munich, signing a new contract with the Bundesliga champion.
After an agreement was announced on Tuesday, Real Madrid’s extended interest in the Canadian star was effectively completed.
The fresh agreement will keep Davies to the Allianz Arena by the end of the 2029-30 season, marking what could be a 11-year term with the club if he sees a full contract.
“I’m very happy to extend my contract at this great club,” Davies said in a statement.
“I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and I just wanted to learn every day as much as possible to become one of the best in my position. Now I look forward to another five years together. I have already achieved a lot here, but there is still that .
Davies’ decision to stay left to Real Madrid, who wanted to provide the services of a 24-year-old left-back.

His previous contract was supposed to expire in June 2025, and Madrid hoped or negotiated a transfer fee or made a free transfer this summer.
Despite Madrid’s interest, Bayern was determined to maintain Davies, offering him an improved contract to secure his stay in Munich.
“Alphonso Davies has become one of the best players in the world in his position in Bayern and has attracted great interest,” said Bayern Sports Director Christoph Freund.
“The fact that he wants to continue here with us shows Bayern’s status in international football and that Alphonso has found his sports home in Munich.”
This season, Davies presented in 16 Bundesliga matches under coach Vincent Company, found a net once, while he assisted Bayern in holding his place on top of the table.
Davies originally joined Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019 and has since developed into one of the world’s leading left -wing players.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, continues to seek the reinforcements of the left back because of the insecurity around Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
Spanish giants have a history of securing top talents on free transfers, with recent examples, including Kylian Mbappe 2024, Antonio Rudiger 2022 and David Alaba of Bayern 2021.
