More than 1,000 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) employees were notified last week that they could be subjected to immediate shot, according to an email obtained by The Hill.
Email, sent on Wednesday by Officer Kimberly Patrick, EPA attendance, notifies that employees affect that they are “probable in a test/test period”.
“As a test/test employee, the agency has the right to terminate -immediately,” says the email.
Nicole Cantello, President of the American Government Employees (AFGE) Local 704, who represents EPA employees at Midwest, said that more than 1,000 employees across the country received the email.
Cantello said that it will be a “prelude” to lay off newer workers who have less than a year of federal service.
“We are really worried, deeply concerned, that the next step is to eliminate these employees,” he said.

Cantello said that he feared that between the purchase and the potential dismissal of the most recent staff, the agency could lose one -tenth of his staff, which would “decline the agency”.
“These people work on things like removing leadership from pipes or enforcing environmental laws such as the Law of clean water and the law of clean air. They work on things like Brownfields, which turn the land contaminated into usable land. They work in superfund places, which cleanses toxic pollution, “he said.
“North -Americans will really suffer if we don’t keep these people a day,” he added.
The EPA spokesmen did not immediately respond to the request for comments on the hill. However spokesman Molly Vaseliou told the New York Times that “ultimately, the goal is to create a more effective and effective federal government that serves all the North -Americans”.
