United States legislators expressed sympathy and penalty after a passenger aircraft collided with a nearby military helicopter National Reagan Airport In the Washington area, DC on Wednesday night.
A regional jet of PSA Airlines CRJ700, which operated as American Airlines flight collided with a Mid Air with a H-60 Sikorsky Helicopter that approached the National Airport of Reagan in Arlington, Virginia, towards the 21 hours, local time, according to the federal aviation administration (FAA). The flight left Wichita, Kansas, at the beginning of this day.
The passenger flight was carrying 60 people, but officials have not confirmed the exact number of injuries and fatalities. The Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who started working on Monday, said he was aware of the incident in a position on X.
“DOD actively monitoring,” read Hegseth’s tweet. “Put to help if needed. Prayers for all involved.”

The Secretary of Transport, Sean Duffy, confirmed that he was in the FAA building and investigating the incident. White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, also shared a message from President Donald Trump Wednesday night.
“I have been completely informed about the terrible accident that has just taken place at Reagan National Airport,” he read the statement. “May God bless his souls. Thank you for the incredible work of our first who respond. I am watching the situation and I will provide more details as they arise.”
Representative Anna Paulina Luna, R-FLA., Expressed her pain after feeling the fall.
“Our sentences are with all the families affected by the tragic plane crash that has just taken place here in DC,” read Luna’s publication. “Incredibly weoring.”
Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears He said he kept all those affected in his sentences.

“My office follows the tragic and tragic news of a collision in @reagan_airport,” wrote the lieutenant governor. “We pray for the victims, the first lifeguards and all who affected.”
The Secretary of National Security, Kristi Noem, wrote to X that he “deployed all US Coastal Guard resources available for search and rescue efforts in this horrible incident in DCA.”
“We are actively watching the situation and they are ready to support local respondents,” the former South Dakota governor wrote. “Praying for the victims and the first to respond.”
