President Donald Trump He said that the construction of a shield as an iron dome for the United States is a maximum priority for him on Monday, asking that an “immediate” work be done in the project before signing an executive order.

Trump made the statements at a republican dinner in Florida on Monday as he congratulated his recently confirmed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. After landing on the joint base Andrews that night confirmed that he signed an executive order on the iron dome on the plane.

“Pete Hegseth, which will be great, by the way … I think it will be fantastic,” Trump said at the event. “I know him very well. I think it will be fantastic.”

“This is what we need, to immediately start the construction of a state-of-the-art iron-dome missile shield, which will be able to protect Americans.”

The President added that the North -Americans “protect other countries, but we do not protect ourselves.” Trump also referred to that President Ronald Reagan was interested in the system during the Cold War, but the North -Americans “did not have the technology”.

“And now we have phenomenal technology. You see that with Israel,” Trump continued. “So I think the United States have the right to this. And everything will be done here in the US 100%.”

“We go by side to ensure that we have the most lethal struggle in the world.”

On Monday, the State Department said that a future iron dome is one of the many priorities of Hegseth.

“Other areas that the Secretary will study include reinstating troops that were expelled due to Covid-19 Vaccination Mandates and developing an anti-mild system of the iron dome for the United States,” the statement read.

This was not Trump’s first mention of an iron dome for the United States to the commander’s inaugural ball on January 20. Trump said the project was on his radar.

“We are also doing the iron dome in America,” said Trump. “We will have a good iron dome.”

The Republican leader also referred to the Plan of the trail of the campaign in 2024.

“In the next term we will build a large iron dome over our country,” Trump said during a West Palm Beach event On June 14. “We deserve a dome … it is a shield of defense of the missiles and will be in America.”
