Former Inter and Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was arrested as part of an investigation into a cocaine trade in Belgium.
It is understood that the 36-year-old was detained by Belgian police after they performed a series of separate raids across the country.
Associated Press Report that 30 tests were performed on Monday morning, in the province of Antwerp Iu Brussels and around, where the authorities found 2.7 kilograms of cocaine, luxury items worth 500,000 euros and over 350,000 euros in Gotovina.
Nainggolan spent four years in Roma between 2014 and 2018 after a similar length on Cagliari, and eventually moved to the current Serie A holders a Between. He was one of the most prominent midfielders in the country at the time of the move, but failed to establish himself as a regular in San Sirou.
The combat star recently ended the long -lasting magic from the game, signing for the second -team Lokeren, who learned about his arrest by reading reports on the media.
“The club respects the assumption of innocence and therefore cannot comment on,” the club statement said. “We can only confirm that the player was absent from training this morning. The club will continue to focus on tomorrow’s crucial league match against Kas Eupena. Radja Nainggolan can’t play in that game anyway.”
16 people were arrested, the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Brussels confirmed, and the investigation was focused on the alleged import of cocaine into the country from South America to the Luka Luka in Antwerp.
Nainggolana was limited 30 times, but did not appear for the national team in six years. He has two main honors to his name – 2020/21 Serie a The title I 2022/23 Belgian Pro League title – and was named in the series A team of the year in all four of its full season in Roma.
