The last match of the 2 match test series in between Pakistan and West Indies Had everything. The history books were rewritten, and the crowd witnessed an incomparable rivalry between the players of the two sides. The bowlers dominated the game as the batter collapsed like a pack of cards. Overall, West Indies outclassed Pakistan to claim a historic Test win at Cricket stadium At a time when the odds were completely against them. The visitors ended their tour of Pakistan with their heads held high as they produced a stunning comeback against Pakistan after a disastrous display with the bat on the opening day of the Test.
Day 3 of the second Test began with Pakistan already on the back foot at 71/4 with still a mountain to climb given that the pitch had already shown considerable support for the spinners throughout the series. The opening didn’t bring any relief for the home side either, as wickets kept falling with the spin trio Jomel Warrican, Kevin Sinclair and Gudakesh movement withdrew the remaining Pakistani innings.
As Sinclair sent Pakistan’s spicy batter Saud Shakeel to the pavilion, Warrican ended the resistance from Kashif AliMohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha. After the traditional batters were sent back to the pavilion, it was only a matter of time before West Indies claimed the remaining wickets and registered a monumental Test win against Pakistan by 120 runs. This is their first Test win on Pakistani soil in a span of 34 years. The last time a Caribbean side beat Pakistan on their home turf was during their tour of Pakistan in 1990/91, when they triumphed over the home side by 7 wickets.
Although the West Indies Batters collapsed in the first innings, they made a stunning comeback during their second innings to score 244 runs in 66.1 overs. With a 9-run lead over Pakistan after the end of Pakistan’s 1st innings, the home team needed 253 runs to win the final Test and clinch the series win.
However, the West Indies bowlers had other thoughts, in the absence of an experienced Pacer Kemar roachwho could not bowl after a groin injury on the second day of the match, the West Indies spinners ran the show and completely dismantled Pakistan’s batting order. The highest any Pakistani batter would score in front of the West Indies spinner was a knock of 31 runs Babar Azam.
Warrican was West Indies’ most successful Spinner picking up 5 wickets during Pakistan’s second and conceding just 27 runs in his 16 over spell. Sinclair and Motie also supported him with their impeccable performances taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Pakistan’s second innings could only last 43 overs as they were bowled out for 133 runs.
The defeat had a detrimental effect on Pakistan’s position in the World Test Championship (WTC) Table for the current cycle. With 9 defeats in 14 games, they finish at the bottom of the table with only 27.98 percentage points (PCT). West Indies, on the other hand, finished above Pakistan in the current WTC cycle with 8 losses and 28.21 PCT points.
2024: WI win a Test in ๐ฆ๐บ after 28 years, on a wicket that favors the hosts, to draw the series 1-1.
2025: WI win a Test in ๐ต๐ฐ after 35 years, on typical SC Turner, to draw the series 1-1.
They won 2 away Tests in the year, on a completely different deck. I hope it grows from here. #Pakvswi pic.twitter.com/cxod3oivxe

After a century against Nepal, Babar Azam failed to score a century in 61 overs !!
– In that time Babar scored 1805 runs at 31.66 average with 15 fifty plus scores!
Babar Azam is still struggling in his current form #Pakvswi pic.twitter.com/n6db2jd0vh

A great win by a relatively inexperienced West Indies team in challenging, foreign conditions. They never publicly complained about the conditions. They just resumed work. Huge credit to Kraigg Brathwaite, Andre Coley and the team.

Between the gaps, our players should play first class whenever they get the chance. That is the only way you can improve as a Test side.
Long gaps in red ball cricket are hurting Pakistan. We have to play more Test matches every year.#Pakvswi #Pakistancricket https://t.co/qkcc5p9hb8
