Senator Lindsey Graham (Rs.C.) says the Senate must investigate President Trump decision to finish The Personal Security Protection of your ex -National Security Assesser John Bolton.
Bolton, who clashed with Trump at the end of the first term, had been under the protection of secret service due to a threat to his life from Iran.
Graham, during an interview with the “Union State” of CNN, argued that the United States government cannot leave the former “hanging” national security officials after confronting one of the opponents of the country, such as the Iran.
He said that the Senate must be involved and find out why Bolton and the former Secretary of State of Trump, Mike Pompeo, lost their personal security details.
“Whether you like Bolton or anyone else, we must assure you that if you serve our government and take a foreign power at the request of the administration, that we do not let you hang,” Graham told Dana Bash de CNN.
“The Senate has to look at what happened and sit and find out what is the best way to follow,” he said.
He said that the President of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Tom Cotton (R-ARK), told him that the threat against Bolton and other former national security officials “seemed to be real.”
“And I don’t want to leave them hanging. It’s difficult to recruit people in the future, “he said.
Graham warned that Trump has to think of the possible consequences if one of the officials who lost his personal security protection had to be injured or killed by a murderer.
“And, you know, if something happened to these people, and you know, President Trump has to think, you know, get people to serve in the future. Possessing this decision, “he said.
