Edgar Berlanga announced the next six fights he wanted after his fight on March 8, which is said to be against Kalfa Gabriel Rosado (26-17-1, 15 ko) in Puerto Rico. Rosado did not get a fight for four years since 2021.
Six fights, zero chances?
He would probably lose in all six fights Berlanga wants. This would make it difficult for him to fight the remaining five without a massive reaction of fighters who decide to fight him.
Edgar included Jermalla Charloa and recently knocked out Jaime Mungui. Even these guys would probably be too talented against a much bigger Berlange.
Interestingly, Berlang (22-1, 17 ko) included a rematch with Canel Alvarez as one of the six struggles he wants, which seems unlikely without winning someone at a high level in the semi-heavyweight or cruiser category.
Canelo will never fight Berlanga without doing something beyond his capabilities, such as the victory over David Benavides, David Morrell, Artur Beterbie’s or Dmitry buffalo.
Berlang allegedly rehydrated on 193 lbs For his defeat to Canel in 12 rounds unanimously on September 14 last year. Brooklyn, New York, Berlang looked massive in the ring with Canela that evening. Surprisingly, he managed to make 168-lb.
Because it’s so much, it should fight in the semi -heavyweight category. Berlanina’s decision to stay at 168 is understandable, but he is not talented enough to win even marginal competitors at 175.

Fighters like Caleb Plant and Hamzah Sheeraz would probably take the opportunity to fight Berlange. Former IBF Super Middle A category champion has already tried to fight him, but to no avail. If Plant tries to fight him, he could ignore him and continue to play for sure, waiting and hoping that Canelo would bless him with a rematch.
Berlanga has not yet won anyone to prove that B fighter is a level. He is not A-Level given what he looked like against Canel and in some other fights.
