If confirmed, Noem will become the fourth president That of Donald Trump Elections to be advanced outside the Senate, behind the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the director of the CIA John Ratcliffe and the Incoming Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The votes that are expected shortly after Noem are those of the secretary of the secretary of Treasure Scott Bessent, followed by the Secretary of Transport Sean Duffy.

“I was the first governor to send National Guard troops in Texas when they were overwhelmed by an unprecedented border crisis,” Noem told the Committee during his confirmation audience last week.
“If I confirm myself as secretary, I will make sure that our exceptional and extraordinary agents of the border patrol have all the tools and resources and the support they need to carry out their mission effectively.”
