President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that the security detail provided to Dr. Anthony Fauci By the taxpayer.
The National Health Institutes (NIH) applied for security to Fauci in 2020 to protect it from the threats it received as a maximum health official and public spokesman during the Covid-19 Pandemic. But this detail was taken on Thursday night, CNN reported for the first time.
Trump was asked about the decision on Friday while visiting Asheville, NC, for sightseeing affected by Hurricane Helene.
“I think, you know, when you work for the Government, at some point your security details give off and, you know, you can’t have them forever,” said Trump.
“We also removed some people, but you can’t have a security detail for the rest of your life because you work for the government,” he added.
Trump revoked the security authorizations of 51 intelligence officials who had mistakenly stated that Hunter Biden’s laptop had “all the classic headers of a Russian information operation”, as well as the details provided to The ex -national security service John Bolton and the former Secretary of State Mike Pompeu.
