Sto and MLC avoid a clash in 2025 as the leagues aim to secure global stars

Reportedly, the hundred and Major League Cricket (MLC) has made a major adjustment to their schedules for the upcoming 2025 season to avoid overlapping with the aim of having a great chance of attracting the best male cricketers around the world.

However, the hundred and Major League Cricket (MLC) have not officially announced their dates for the upcoming edition, but a report by ESPNCRICINFO has revealed that the American franchise league will run from mid-June to mid-July, ending about two weeks before the hundreds begin in early August.

One hundred and one major league cricket was set to adjust the schedule for the 2025 season to avoid overlapping

One hundred and one Major League Cricket (MLC) decided to change their window after the two leagues clashed for six days last year, causing logistical problems and the availability of players from both leagues. In 2024, England’s 100-ball tournament had to contend with several late arrivals from the MLC, leading to a series of last-minute shortstop replacement signings.

Additionally, Texas Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming had to leave early to join the southern Braves for the 100-ball tournament in England. However, a hundred still won’t have a fully exclusive window in 2025. Despite the immediate schedule changes, the 100-ball tournament will overlap with the 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2025).

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has already announced that its men’s tournament will run from August 14 to September 21, making West Indian players unavailable for most of 2025. Women’s CPL 2025 is expected to start in early September, which means that women players will be able to participate in both leagues without any conflicts.

The MLC 2025 Final is likely to overlap with the European T20 Premier League

Meanwhile, the MLC 2025 final will clash with the start of the European T20 Premier League, which is scheduled to run from July 15 to August 3 in Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland. The full schedule for the 2025 table is expected to be announced next week.

The ECB’s 100-ball tournament usually runs between July and August, but for 2025, they have reportedly planned for August, without clashing with England’s men’s or women’s international cricket matches. The tournament is scheduled to begin immediately after the fifth and final Test between England and India, and will conclude with the finals weekend on August 31.

On the other hand, Major League Cricket recently appointed Johnny Grave as the league’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Grave served as CEO of Cricket West Indies (CWI) as well as working with Surrey and the Professional Cricket Association. Grave’s appointment could help strengthen ties between the MLC and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Kane Williamson was supposed to lead the London Spirit in the 2025 century

London Spirit are rumored to be set to make a major move by signing Kane Williamson as their captain, and they are looking to bring in Birmingham Phoenix’s Jamie Smith as their centrally contracted player ahead of next season.

Additionally, the Southern Braves are aiming to sign Laura Wolvaardt and the Manchester originals are interested in adding Amelia Kerr to their squad. Significantly, Cummins, Steven Smith and Travis Head are unlikely to play in the ECB tournament.
