Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou says he can finally see an end to his team’s injury crisis as key players begin to return.
Cristian Romero was spotted in training on Thursday and Rodrigo Bentancur returned against Hoffenheim in the Europa League after being out with concussion.
Micky Van de Ven is expected next week, while Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario should be available in early February.
The Spurs have been barebones in recent weeks, with only 14 senior players available on Thursday night.
And while there was another major blow with the loss of Dominic Solanke, Postecoglou remained positive he can bring his players back and make some additions before the transfer window closes.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with Leicester, he said: “We should have a light at the end of the tunnel in a couple of weeks, it’s not that bad, but at the same time there’s always the possibility that before those guys come back, we could lose a few of those guys (current players in shape).
“It’s always a challenge, that’s what we’re going through.

“It’s been two months of grinding hard for the players, just trying to support them as much as we can. Our schedule isn’t going to make it any easier at all.
“The resilience and determination of the players to go out there and perform is a fantastic thing for me to witness, I couldn’t be more proud of them.
“We will benefit from the growth of our younger players but we have to be careful with them, we can’t ask 18-year-olds to keep dipping in and out.
“I thought Archie (Grey) out of position was great, Lucas (Bergvall) worked his socks off during that time and Mikey (Moore) got an assist.
“So there’s no doubt we’ll benefit from those players for many years to come, they’ve had a tough start to their careers. I think that’s hugely positive.”
On the transfers, he added: “All these things are known, nothing has changed in the last 24 hours.
“We knew with Dom probably a few days ago, in the meantime I had a press conference, so all these things are known.”
