Juric offers “no conviction” Southampton will not sell Manchester United target in January

Southampton boss Ivan Juric has offered “no conviction” that teenage star Tyler Dibling will not be sold in January.

Diving has been a shining light in an utterly miserable season for the Saints who sit bottom of the Premier League with just six points to their name.

The 18-year-old winger has been linked with RB Leipzig, Tottenham and Manchester United, with Southampton reportedly shouldering a £55m price tag.

With relegation almost certain, the club face the dilemma of whether to cash in now or potentially see his value reduced in the summer.

Juric said: “There are no convictions in football, we know that.

“But I’m pretty sure I’ll be coaching diving all these years. He’s very motivated, as we see in the game. I’ve seen him really focused, concentrated. No problem.”

Diving to Miss Magpies struggles through injuries

Dibling will miss Saturday’s home game with Newcastle after sustaining an ankle problem in the defeat at Manchester United last week.

The early forecast was that the player would miss up to six weeks, but Jurić hopes that he will be able to return before then.

He added: “We are a little more optimistic at the moment. Next week we will see how we continue. Everyone is more optimistic and we will see. We can say more next week. “

Kamaldeen Sulemana will also sit the weekend game.

Juric said: “I think he’s had really good games since I arrived, but he won’t play against Newcastle because he’s got a bit of an injury.

“Like Tyler Dibling, I think he’s going to stay here. I think we’re going to find a way to play with these two youngsters, they’ve done really well and now we’re losing them because of their injuries. It’s going to be a good option for us in the future.”
