Proud Boys Plan A Comeback. And they want revenge

Oath Keeper founder Stewart Rhodes, whose 18-year sentence for treason was commuted by Trump, made another appearance outside of prison – after he was released from a federal prison in Maryland last night.

One of the Proud Boys in attendance spoke at the event outside the prison, calling himself “Harry Fox.” (This was the same name the other Proud Boys gave to the media on Inauguration Day.)

“Donald Trump is back, baby. He’s back, and he’s stronger than ever,” he said into the microphone. “I am very proud of what the American people did that day,” he added, referring to January 6, “for finally standing up after years of persecution and oppression by a tyrannical government.”

He ended his speech with the words of the Proud Boys: “I am a fan of Western chauvinist sports, and I will not apologize for creating a modern world.” The crowd cheered.

Tarrio, in a phone call to Jones on Tuesday, made it clear that he sees the role of the Proud Boys as very different from what it was four years ago—he sees them as the foot soldiers and muscle of the GOP. “I think the future of the club will be the way it has been,” said Tarrio. “A group of men who love America, go around drinking, and protecting Trump supporters from being told…
