David Haddad, who has been the president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for 12 years, is leaving the company. He will leave in April.
During his time at the broadcaster, WBIE saw great success with franchises such as Batman, Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat. In recent years, the publisher has struggled with misses like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
“David has wisely and deliberately chosen a time when our release schedule will be light which will help minimize disruption to our ongoing operations and current plans and allow the team to better prepare for its next breakout title,” Warner Bros. said. Discovery global streaming and Game CEO and President JB Perrette said in a message to employees reported by Miscellaneous.
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a successor. Haddad had a long tenure at Warner Bros., and transitioning after such a stable leadership can be difficult. His remaining time at the publisher until April should help keep the changes going smoothly.
“I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished together at Warner Bros. Games during my time with the company,” Haddad said. “It has been a pleasure to work with and build our iconic game franchises, and I will continue to actively support what this team is doing in the future. I look forward to working on the next chapter of my career and will always be grateful for my time with Warner Bros. Games.”
